Contingency and series-B NCF

What to do when you can't send or generate e-CF, how to regularize afterwards and when to invoice with series-B NCF while you get certified.

Contingency lets you keep selling when your business can’t send or generate e-CF, and regularize afterwards within the DGII’s deadlines. Separately, if you don’t issue e-CF yet, you can invoice with series-B NCF while you get certified.

Who can do it

The business’s administrators (admin role), from Electronic invoicing › Setup. Cashiers only notice the change when they charge: the on-screen notice and the document the sale takes.

The two contingencies

The Contingency card shows the current mode: Normal, no connection, or Paper receipts. It’s only available while e-CF issuing is on.

  • No connection: you can generate e-CF but not send them to the DGII. Sales keep issuing e-CF, the invoice carries the legend “e-CF emitido en modalidad de contingencia” (e-CF issued in contingency mode), and they’re sent when the connection is back. The rules allow 72 hours at most to transmit them.
  • Paper receipts: you can’t generate e-CF (for example, your certificate expired). Sales take a series-B NCF (B02, B01…) instead of the e-CF. It’s allowed for 15 calendar days at most, and then you have 30 days to regularize. You need an active B01 or B02 range with numbers left.

When the DGII doesn’t answer for a while, you don’t need to turn anything on: Ahorra POS keeps the documents Pending and retries them on its own.

Turn a contingency on

  1. Go to Electronic invoicing › Setup and find the Contingency card.
  2. Press the no-connection button, or Use paper receipts.
  3. Type the Reason (for example, “no internet since 10:00”) and confirm.

While it lasts, you’ll see a notice on the POS, and the card counts the Contingency day and, on paper, the Paper days left.

Important: Notify the contingency to the DGII in the Oficina Virtual (OFV), and again when it’s over. Ahorra POS doesn’t do it for you.

Back to normal and regularize

  1. When the problem is solved, press Back to normal and confirm. Sales issue e-CF again.
  2. If you sold on paper, the card shows the Sales to regularize and the Days to regularize.
  3. Press Regularize now and confirm. Ahorra POS issues one e-CF per paper sale, which replaces its NCF and is sent to the DGII only. Your customers keep their paper invoices.

In Documents, those sales show as Paper (contingency), and the Paper to regularize counter tells you how many are left.

Void or return a sale made on paper

  • If it isn’t regularized yet, you can void it in full: you pick the DGII annulment type, and that NCF is reported as voided in the 608, with no credit note.
  • To return only part of it, regularize the contingency first.
  • Once regularized, it’s voided or returned like any sale with an e-CF.

Series-B receipts without e-CF

If your business doesn’t issue e-CF yet, for example while you get certified, you can invoice with series-B NCF as your regular way of working, with no contingency.

  1. Register your series-B ranges in Sequences (Register range, Series B). You need at least one active B01 or B02 range.
  2. In Setup, find the Series-B receipts card. It tells you if anything is missing: the DGII enrollment, a complete fiscal profile or the range.
  3. Switch on Issue series-B NCF at checkout and confirm with Turn series B on.

From then on, sales, credit sales, deliveries and expenses take their series-B NCF, and returns their B04 credit note. At checkout the document shows its series-B type, such as Consumer (B02) or Tax credit (B01). In Documents they show as Series B and are never waiting to be regularized.

When you turn e-CF issuing on, series B turns off on its own.

Important: Series B is valid only while the DGII allows it for your business’s group, and each range expires on its own date. Turning it on is the owner’s decision and responsibility.
